About Keel Habit

Keel Habit is an independent app, built and run by Swapnil Chaudhari — no venture funding, no growth team, no data-broker business model hiding behind a wellness brand.

It exists because the quit-app category has a trust problem. The most-downloaded apps in this space are loved and hated for the same reasons: helpful tools wrapped in fake countdown timers, shame-based streaks that reset to zero when you slip, and subscription flows designed to be forgotten. Keel is an attempt to build the opposite — and to make honesty the actual product.

The rules Keel doesn't break

  • Local-first. Your streaks, craving logs and recorded anchor stay on your phone. There is no account and no server-side profile of you.
  • Chats exist to answer, not to collect. Messages to Mira (the AI coach) are sent to generate a reply and are not stored or used for training.
  • A slip never wipes your progress. Your best run and lifetime clean days are permanent.
  • One honest price, shown up front. No fake urgency, no spin-wheels, no "limited offer" that never ends.
  • Education, not medicine. Recovery information in Keel is sourced from public-health guidance (CDC, NHS, WHO) and is general education — not medical advice.

How Keel makes money

One way: Keel Premium, an in-app purchase (monthly, annual, or one-time lifetime). No ads, no selling data, no affiliate placements. If Keel is useful, some people upgrade — that's the whole business.

Infrastructure, plainly

The app runs on your device. Three small services support it: an AI worker that answers Mira chats (Cloudflare Workers AI), an optional anonymous leaderboard you must opt into, and opt-in anonymous usage analytics with a random, resettable ID. Purchases are processed by Apple / Google with RevenueCat handling receipts. Full details are in the privacy policy.
